Putting an IT infrastructure together to support a fully mobile office in just three months is a tough challenge for any IT department. But when the ‘office’ is in fact a mobile custody unit which was a ‘first’ in the UK police’s history, it becomes even tougher. Not only were there technical, legislatory and security issues to resolve, but as a totally new concept, past experience was not a factor. To help with this pioneering project that has received worldwide publicity and acclaim, Merseyside Police called on the skills of Point to Point Ltd, which was awarded a Citrix award for its innovative work.
